Dermot Drummy backs Alex Davey after error
Crawley Town boss Dermot Drummy has given loanee Alex Davey his backing after the young defenders mistake led to his side conceding.
Davey received the ball in his defensive third, but was dispossessed with Portsmouth taking full advantage.
"It's a learning curve and that's life," Drummy said.
"He's made an error and you'll see a few of those on the television over the weekend and he has to pick himself up.
"But there are others out there who weren't playing the way I wanted around the back either. Some people don't want the ball at times. They don't make space for people and we have to have that bravery to play.
"I think in the first half they pressed us and we didn't turn them around. We tried to play poor balls in, not good quality balls.
"We have the emphasis on wanting to try to play and we have come to one of the strong favourites to go up and got well beaten."
