Izzy Brown: "My dream is to be a first-team regular at Chelsea."
Izzy Brown spoke to the media after his debut with Rotherham United and explains his Chelsea dream and the difference between U-21s and the Championship.
"I just want to show I’m capable of playing in the Chelsea first team – my dream is to be a first-team regular. It’s okay playing a few games here and there but I want to have a shirt number and play every game, week in week out. If you’re doing well in England and everyone’s watching and seeing what you’re capable of, hopefully it’ll pass on through to Chelsea."
Brown made his debut and was close to scoring, his shot being saved and hit the bar.
"I haven’t witnessed anything like that before, it’s something I need to get used to. Under-21s football is nothing compared to the Championship. It’s so much more difficult.
"You have no time. Every time you have the ball, there’s either someone in your back or someone coming in front of you – so you have to think quick and make quick decisions. I just tried to keep things simple.
"My legs felt a bit heavy going into the second half, because I had the European Championships [with England] and then I had six days off before I was back training with Chelsea."
