Izzy Brown joins Rotherham United on loan
Rotherham United have today [Monday] confirmed they have secured Chelsea winger Izzy Brown on a season long loan.
Izzy Brown spent last season on loan to Vitesse, where he made 24 appearances. Scoring just the 1 goal.
“Izzy will give us another threat in that attacking area,” Stubbs said. “We are looking to strengthen the squad. Izzy is a sign of that.”
“We’re really looking forward to him being here and I think he’s going to give us a real threat in the forward areas in terms of creating and being a goal threat and it’s one that we’re all excited about.
“He is a very exciting player. He went to Chelsea for a lot of money a few years ago and they’ve got big aspirations for him and I think it’s a feather in the club’s cap the fact that Chelsea have loaned us one of their prestigious talents and one that they have really high hopes for.
“He’s quick and he’ll give defenders problems,” he continued. “Whenever you have real pace it’s always a problem for defenders and its something they’re scared of and we’re hoping that when he comes here he will be one that puts opposition defenders on the back foot. “Predominantly he is a wide player, he has played off the striker or in that position on a few occasions but he is more of a wide man. He’s very direct and very positive when he gets in one-versus-one positions and we know he’s scored goals.”
