Bristol City's Lee Tomlin has kind words for Tammy Abraham

Bristol City star Lee Tomlin spoke to the media about new signing Tammy Abraham and how impressed he is with the youngsters ability, but also mentality.

"Tammy's a bright and clever player and the thing I really like about him is he's willing to listen and learn. He's always asking questions and he wants to know how things work.

"That is not always the case with players from Chelsea. No matter how young they are, they can think they are better than anyone else. Tammy is not like that.

"When he first came in, there were a couple of balls I played around the corner to see if he would read them. He didn't read them and I did wonder, because some of these young players at Chelsea don't have a clue. I asked him if he was ready for things like that and he was like 'yeah, yeah'. I told him that's how it was here and he had to be on his toes and he accepted that and understood.

"I like the way he works so hard and gives everything for the team. He is not a selfish player, he likes to set other players up and bring them into the game. He has these long legs, is very tall and looks as though he can upset defenders with his height. He reminds of Kanu a bit. He's very intelligent, works hard and scores goals as well.

"I really do think he has a massive future in the game. I know I've only seen him for a short amount of time but, if he carries on learning, he could have a really good career ahead of him. He has started so well and he is only a young lad. I was at Middlesbrough with Patrick Bamford and he was unbelievable, but he was 21 or 22 then. Tammy is just 18 and has a few years to improve and develop his game. His all-round game is very good.

"Like a lot of the young lads at Chelsea, he is desperate to get out and play games and then go back and try to get into the first team. I said to him the other day 'if you keep scoring goals, then you'll be back there playing'. Even if he scores 20 goals this season and still doesn't get into the Chelsea team, he could fetch £15 million in the transfer market with the money that's going around at the moment. If I was a club chairman, I'd definitely pay that for him."
