Danilo Pantic joins Excelsior on loan

As reported last week, Danilo Pantic joins Excelsior on loan until the end of the season.

When General Manager of Excelsior was asked about the reports linking his club to the Serbian midfielder last week, he confirmed the club wanted him.

"We want him for a season rental and about talking to each other," admitted Ferry de Haan.

"He is a very talented footballer, but in Arnhem is not become what both player and club had expected, I guess. Danilo is now just got another year on. He will have to show us that he has made a step."

Now, Pantic will spend another season in Holland after his unsuccessful spell at Vitesse, where he only made 8 appearances.

"It's good to be in the Netherlands," said Pantic. "I have to go play football very much looking forward to Excelsior Rotterdam. I've just arrived and still can not say so much about the club, but the first impression is good. I just met my new teammates and employees of the club. I understand that Excelsior is a family club and that speaks to me.

"Chelsea is a big club and it is difficult to intervene there as a young player. Therefore, it is to be loaned out for my development and to gain experience. Ultimately, my goal is of course to come out for the first team at Chelsea."
