Loanee Alex Kiwomya spoke to the media after his stunning debut for Crewe Alexandra where he scored and assisted to win League 2 player of the week.
"In the changing room before I had my headphones in listening to some inspiration and I wanted to show the fans that I'm here to make a difference and do my best for the club. I just hope that I showed that.
"I did the best that I could and to come away with an assist and a goal, hopefully many more of those to come.
"I spoke to the gaffer before the game and he said he was going to give me a chance to come on and I just hoped that I could take it. You can't just expect to come in to a team and play straight away, you just have to do the best you can when you come on and that's what I feel I did to help the team. You have to take the chances when they're given to you and hopefully the gaffer has seen that in me."
Kiwomya came off the bench to set up a the first for Crewe, then produced a stunning solo goal that started from his own half.
"I started just inside our half, took players on one-v-one which is something we've been working on and shooting on my left foot. I managed to nutmeg one player, take it past another, and bend it in to the far corner. I won't say that (a goal of the season contender) yet because hopefully there's many more goals for the team, not just me, to come."
Kiwomya loans recently have been month loans. Crewe decided to pick him up on a 6 months loan spell and he is looking to show his talent.
"The loans I have done before have just been month loans. The gaffer here has put his trust in me and he wants me to do the best I can and that's what I'm here to do. I know what I'm going to do when I get on the ball, that's my talent, that's my gift. I'm going to use it to the best I can and when I get on the ball either player someone in with my technical ability that I've learned at Chelsea or take someone on and take a shot at goal.
"Crewe is quiet, a lot different to London, but a lot to focus on. We stay at training a lot longer, obviously I'm not around my family which is hard but I'm working hard and hopefully that's showing. The lads are all young so we get along well, everyone knows we have a job to do and that's what we're coming here to do."
