Baba Rahman: "Premier League teams are still very much playing 'kick and rush' football
Baba Rahman spoke to Schalke 04 about what it means to him arriving back in Germany, what made him join Schalke and the Premier League itself.
Abdul Rahman Baba on……the first impression of his new team:
"The lads have warmly welcomed me. I have enjoyed my time with the squad so far. I noticed from the very first training session that Schalke have a strong team with a lot of quality. I know some players from before such as Johannes Geis as I played with him in Fürth."
…the reason for leaving England for the Revier:
"I spoke with new Chelsea head coach Antonio Conte and he told me that I would probably not to play very often in his system. I want to be on the pitch, so I told the management in London that I wanted to transfer. I found a very good club in the form of FC Schalke 04. I am sure that I have made the right decision."
…Markus Weinzierl:
"I already know him from my time at FC Augsburg. We get along really well. I know that Markus Weinzierl has a lot of confidence in me, which is an important thing for any player."

…his aims with the Royal Blues:
"I obviously want to play a part with Schalke. My target is to give everything to help the team to be successful. I want to help the team and I am looking forward to the atmosphere at my first home game. I know what it’s like in the VELTINS-Arena when Schalke play, as I’ve played there before with both Augsburg and Fürth."
…Gerald Asamoah:
"I know Asa very well. He comes from Ghana like me and we played together in Fürth. The fact that I will be wearing his number 14 shirt for Schalke makes me that little bit prouder."
…your time in England:
"It was a good year overall, even if I didn’t play particularly often to begin with. Amongst other things it was down to the fact that I joined the team quite late. Unfortunately, we didn’t finish where we imagined we would in the league."
… the differences between the Premier League and the Bundesliga:
"Long balls are used a lot more often in the Premier League. A lot more value is placed on the technical aspects of the game in Germany."
