La Liga club sees their last-ditch bid for Omeruo rejected
According to Today Nigeria, La Liga club Celta Vigo saw their last minute bid for Nigerian defender Kenneth Omeruo rejected by Chelsea as they have already agreed a deal with Besiktas for the player.
"Top officials said Celta Vigo tried to sign Omeruo this week on loan, but their interest was late in coming as Chelsea have already agreed with Besiktas on the player," a source said.
Omeruo is training at Cobham with the rest of the returning loanees, but his move back to Turkey should be completed soon. It would see Omeruo loaned to Turkish Champions Besiktas for 1 season with an option to buy, which they're expected to exercise.
Yesterday, AfricanFootball reported that Chelsea value the defender at €5M. He spent last season on loan with Kasimpasa, but due to financial reasons, they could not afford the option to make his transfer permanent.
Omeruo had a successful spell last season, as he made 25 appearances for Istanbul club Kasimpasa as they finished seventh last season
