Aston Villa made to sweat by Patrick Bamford
According to the BirminghamMail, Aston Villa will soon know where they stand with their pursuit for Chelsea striker Patrick Bamford.
New Villa boss Di Matteo, formerly managing Chelsea, has told Chelsea he wants to take Bamford off their hands as they look to loan the 23-year old for another season.
Di Matteo's former assistant, Eddie Newton, heads the Loanee department at Chelsea and is leading training sessions at Cobham for those who have returned from loan. So Villa could have the edge in landing Bamford. However, report states there are a number of clubs interested in Bamford and the striker is yet to decide his future.
