Christian Atsu scores for Ghana, Desailly has some words about him.
On Sunday, Christian Atsu for Ghana as they Mauritius 2-0. Atsu scored after a surging run from none other than Baba Rahman, who also assisted for Ghana's first goal. For Ghana, this means they have qualified for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.
On Tuesday, Former Chelsea and France defender Marcel Desailly spoke of his disappointed at Ghanaian players playing outside Ghana. He mentioned Atsu as an example.
"They [Ghanaian players abroad] don’t play abroad; they are second choices, third choices just because the focus and the interest is [on] the money from the beginning, instead of building up knowledge and having a capacity."
"I wish [Christian] Atsu, who has a great ability and capacity, could at least play in his club. He has been moving around from Chelsea to Everton and now Malaga. I don’t know how well he’s doing there but I need him to be good. I believe in him. I believe in his capacity."
