Courbis: "I think it'd be good for Boga & for Rennes if he played another season here.&

Rennes coach Rolland Courbis wants to keep hold of on-loan Chelsea winger Jeremie Boga.

Courbis believes the France Under-19 international should stay at the club for a further season.

"Right now he is still learning his trade and that's logical given his age," Courbis told beIN Sports. "But he has already forced his way in to our attacking plans."

"As far as I'm concerned, he's in the same boat as [Ousmane] Dembele."

"He has to continue his development over the next 18 months, two years. I think it'd be good for him and for Rennes if he played another season here."

Jeremie Boga found life difficult under Courbis, but slowly has gained his trust. A handful of clubs are interested in signing Boga, including Marseille and a few La Liga teams. If Rennes achieve European football, the prospect of staying at Rennes should be discussed.

Marseille are reported to have promised Boga an important role for next season if they were to secure his signature on loan. The proposed offer sounds too good to be true and with Marseille being an already hostile environment, a move to Boga's boy hood club could be a step backwards.

A loan to La Liga was originally the plan at the beginning of the season, but that broke down. This time, they have persisted. The chance to play in Spain would turn any youngsters head, but Boga would take a great while to settle into life, language and club. Perhaps Rennes is the best place for Boga to continue his development.
