Kalas: "No time to fix the mistakes."
Chelsea loanee Tomas Kalas said Middlesbrough’s players are enjoying playing under the pressure of the Championship and promotion. Middlesbrough moved into second place, one point behind leaders Burnley, after a 3-0 win against Huddersfield and they still have a game in hand.
"Every player knows we are coming towards the end of the season,” said the defender, who is currently keeping a fit-again Daniel Ayala out of the side. We just have a few more games, so it does feel different to when you start the season," said Kalas.
"Earlier in the season, every mistake you make, you know you can make it better. Now, there is no time to fix the mistakes.
"Everyone knows the table, and you can feel the greater tension. When the game is going well, it’s great because you know you can get another three points. It is definitely different now, and we all have to focus and make sure we don’t make mistakes.
"You can tell the atmosphere is different now to what it was before and we are pleased that the fans are really behind us and supporting us at the end of the season when we need it most. I was struggling when we were going through that unbeaten run and I was on the bench. It is never easy for players to be on the bench, but I am trying to do what I need to do to keep them out of my position."
