Christensen speaks on life at Gladbach

It has been a week to remember for 19-year-old Andreas Christensen. Named Danish talent of the year, his first international start, his loan club fighting for his stay against his parent club & the consistent rumours linking him to Barcelona. Ahead of his first international start against Iceland, Andreas spoke to bold.bk about playing recently in a back 3 with the likes of Norwegian Håvard Nordtveit and Swedish Oscar Wendt.

"We have a very good interaction in the defense and it is perhaps that we feel really good off the field, where we speak our own language together," says Christensen. "That way we hang too well together. We still concede goals, but it's also about that we very much want to play offensively, and therefore we are sometimes caught in some little stupid situations."

"I'll be in more difficult situations when we play with three men until four in the back. It gives something, and I learn from it. I like to play that way. The next match against Hertha becomes important. They win, they have a gap while we with a victory to close the gap. So the battle comes much to determine what we can aim. We must win if we want to have a hope of playing in the Champions League. Fail that, we really tough for the Europa League, which is still a great opportunity for us."
