Max Eberl - "We have the belief and the desire to be able to get Christensen."

Borussia Monchengladbach sporting director Max Eberl tells BT that he will work hard to buy Andreas Christensen permanently from Chelsea. It seems we cannot go a week with Eberl discussing the future of a player that is not his.

"I would like that Andreas stays longer with us than 2017. We have the belief and the desire to be able to get him on a permanent basis. We will try us for the summer, where we will continue to talk to Chelsea about Andreas' future," said sporting director Max Eberl.

The German director ones against explained that Gladbach have no way obligations to send Andreas back before his two-year loan deal expires.

"He is loaned to us until June 2017 by Chelsea, and there is no contractual relationship, which means that we must send him back before then."

Andreas spoke earlier during the week about his future. "When we made this deal, I wrote during five years with Chelsea, which two years should be out on loan. So it is really at Gladbach. If Chelsea want me back, I think that it is Gladbach who decides. I was happy at Chelsea and I am happy to be in Gladbach too, so for me it's win / win. No matter what happens, I will be super-happy."

However, Max Eberl seems to be going on a public tour of any and every newspaper agency to declare his dying love and desire to buy a player that isn't his.

"I have always said that Andreas has an incredible amount of potential. He was one of the young players, who first should have been channeled into the Bundesliga this season. Because of injuries on the team, he has been forced to jump into it. Now he's become regulars playing and doing well at just 19 years. He defends excellent."

"He has earned its removal after outstanding performances in the Bundesliga. If he continues to develop, as he has done in recent months, he can definitely be a regular on the Danish national team. But one should not forget that he is only 19 years. He has only just started his career, and young players should not be overloaded with too high expectations."
