Musonda wants to stay at Real Betis next season
Charly Musonda has taken La Liga by storm. The 19-year-old has become a cult hero for the Real Betis fans, having only played 6 games, and now he has given them something else to cheer about. "I am very happy here," said the Belgium. "Right now I'm playing to give the best for Betis and enjoy myself. I don't know the future. I am content. Next year you never know, but it is possible [to stay]."
Asked if he would rather to stay at Betis than go back to the Chelsea Under U21 side, he replied: "Yes. My favourite clubs are from Spain. They are the best clubs in the world. I've liked Barcelona and Real Madrid since I was a kid. That's why I learned Spanish. Now I play for Betis and I'm happy. Playing here helps me to improve my Spanish too."
Real Betis manager, Juan Merino, also expressed his desire for Musonda to stay last week.
"He is a player who arrived in December; I wish we had the option of being able to buy." said Merino. "With his behaviour and attitude in the field is proving to 19 years is an impressive player and will go to more".
