Christensen - "Plan is that I will be here next season."
Andreas Christensen has enjoyed life at Monchengladbach. He becomes the 2nd loanee to reach 30 appearances this season. After Cuadrado. He's been in the Gladbach line up 22 times out of a possible 25 in the league and started 5 out of 6 Champions League group stage games. Facing the likes of Man City and Juventus.
Andreas future has been a hot topic over the last couple of weeks, especially after he netter twice against Werder Bremen in a 5-1 League win to record his first professional goal. Gladbach sporting director, Max Eberl, has been a consistent presence in the papers. Openly discussing plans to bid for Christensen in the summer.
"I feel really good here. I enjoy it - every second," says Andreas Christensen to German TV 2 SPORT. "Right now the plan is that I will be here (Gladbach) next season and so it is also a bit about what is happening in England. But I'm enjoying life right now and look forward to another season too."
Asked how he would react if Chelsea indeed recall him in the summer. "I'll be ready for it. I will be ready no matter what happens. Right now I am not thinking so much about it. It's more about making this season finished and end high in the table. That's what I think of."
Christensen is overdue a starting place in the Denmark national team. Former Denmark coach Morten Olsen had Christensen as his nation's 'future', calling the teen into his squad for their failed Euros playoff clash with Sweden. "Andreas has the size with him, he's quick, a good header. He is one that will push on for years to come, perhaps also in other positions."
Christensen paid tribute to Morten Olsen. "I am grateful to Morten Olsen gave me a chance in the national team. But it can go either way (for my national team participation), I think. I work hard, and then we will see what decision Age (new Denmark coach) takes."
